My Watercolours are full of rich colour, texture and detail. They are not the usual minimum wash, or soft, wet in wet execution. What makes them different in pushing the boundaries of watercolour is that any one painting can incorporate all methods of watercolour painting into a single work. This technique requires numerous watercolour glazes. Exploiting the use of resists and fine line work enhances the textual patterns found in the Australian landscape.
All Pastel artwork by Gail Sharp are full Pastel Paintings. They exhibit the use of many layers in vivid colour patterns and strong linear contrasts.
A feature of oil or acrylic is its opaque attribute that satisfies the need to paint in this manner. Thick, buttery brushstrokes and surface textures are achievable unlike painting with watercolours and soft pastels. Its viscocity and tangible elements allows the artist to imprint the work in a more dimensional plane.
Knows no bounds, tactile & sensuous even purely technical but at all times 100 percent art.
