Gail describes herself as an Expressive, Realist Artist working with Oils, Pastels and Watercolours. As a landscape artist Gail endeavours to render each scene as an individual. By dynamic colour management, be it a vibrant high key format or an unusual mix of soft neutrals, the works express a strong visual statement aided with boldly executed texture and linear rhythms.
“I love Colour in whatever form: exotic contrasting, dark or subtle; colour is emotion. It is the skilled use of the degrees of colour, its tonal strength of light to dark and its placement that determines life to a painting.”
Gail's studio is at Tarkinegrove, a property on the edge of the Tarkine Wilderness in NW Tasmania.
Trained at Newcastle and Sydney National Art Schools. Her works have gained many awards and are represented in private collections in Australia and overseas.
